Koh Samui is the third largest island in Thailand, although its width and length is just about 25 km. The island became a tourist paradise in 80s and even now it is a very popular tourist destination. There are several areas on the island, of which Chaweng is one of the busiest areas, and areas such as Lipa Noi and Mae Nam that are still quiet and some beaches are almost untouched. The island has tropic climate and year-round temperatures range from 25 to 35 degrees Celsius, while the weather is influenced by monsoon rains, which usually last from June to October. Koh Samui, however, is very specific to dry weather in July and August, so even in this period is worth going here. There are fewer tourists and prices for services are much lower than in the high season. The high season lasts here from January to the end of April. The sea is crystal clear and still warm, most beaches have very gradual entry into the water.
